Time Magazine's 11 New Books to Read this March has some thought provoking selections from the memoir of a biracial teenager who finds support from a group of "fatherless girls" in Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls, by T. Kira Madden, to a collection of short stories that explores the idea of what makes a community in Lot Stories, by Bryan Washington.

If you are a parent of a biracial child, the book Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations, by Mira Jacob may appeal to you.  The story is about how the author, answers her biracial son's questions about race, sexuality, gender, and more.  Several of the books on the list deal with weighty issues such as loss, love, coming-of-age, and identity.

Time Magazine's Best Books of February 2019 has something for nearly everyone.  From the Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James, a story inspired by African History, crafted into a mythical world infused with fantasy, to On The Come Up by Angie Thomas, a young adult novel about an aspiring 16-year-old rapper and the struggle she faces trying to follow her dreams.  Do you have someone in your life that you think their mobile device is permanently attached to them?  You may want to recommend Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport.  You may have seen Dr. Calvin Newport's TEDtalk about quitting social media.  He is also an associate professor of Computer Science at Georgetown University and author of several books.  Take a look at this short but thought-provoking list of books, you may find one to add to your reading list.
